March 30

Today after work, I went on a bike ride with my friend Joanna and then immediately came home and got online to talk to some of my very best blog friends, Amie, Ellyn, and Sara. We had so much fun finally talking face-to-face. I haven't laughed that hard in quite a while.

March 29

Today I tried my hand at making sushi rolls. I'm not going to lie, they turned out a little rough. They tasted okay, but I had a hard time rolling them tightly enough, so they pretty much just fell apart. Luckily for me, Jack has pretty low standards is a really good sport about food.

March 28

Today I spent the entire day either cooking or cleaning. For lunch, I made the Pioneer Woman's "Malboro Man's favorite sandwich," which Jack absolutely loved, and then I made a bunch of pies (and invented these little baby pies, which I called "cuppies" or "pupcakes"). For dinner, I made the Pioneer Woman's "Perfect Pot Roast." Jack is really enjoying me having her cookbook!

I don't know why this dog puts up with me.

Today I spent the day at Awana Games, a multi-church competition. Our church's Awana kids competed for the first time this year and I line judged. It was a whole lot of fun (even though our team came in dead last!)

 Jack had to go to Vegas yesterday for a taekwondo midterm, but unfortunately for him, he didn't get to stay there very long. He got home tonight. And I was glad to have him back.

I LOVE this weather, and the fact that it's still light out when I leave work! Perfect for riding!

Tonight after Awana, Ashlyn found it hilarious to put everybody's name tags all over herself. That kid is so darn cute.

Tonight before my bike ride, I found out that I can, in fact, fit my bike (Lucy) into my car's backseat! It's a tight squeeze, but I'm so glad I'll be able to transport it pretty easily!

Today, Jack and I have been married for two years. It has flown by. Tonight I cooked Jack a special dinner (though this beautiful creme brulee was actually from our anniversary dinner this weekend) and we enjoyed a nice, normal evening together at home tonight.

This morning Jack and I got up and went to have breakfast downstairs in the hotel as a part of the "romance package" that Jack got at the hotel. It was so nice to have a hot breakfast that I didn't have to cook!

March 20

Today, Jack came home from work and told me to pack a bag. It's our anniversary weekend, and he surprised me with a night at a fancy new hotel in town. It was so nice to get away from our dirty house, go out for a fancy dinner at Fogo de Chao, and enjoy the evening together away from home. It even started snowing tonight, and so I stayed up late watching the snow from our seventh-story suite after Jack fell asleep. That husband of mine is pretty romantic.

Today was our friend Chris's birthday, so we met up with him and a lot of other friends for dinner at a German restaurant nearby. Jack was in heaven. He loves German food.

March 18

Today at work, we made tiny pies in jars as one of our "do-something-fun-while-Joel-and-Eric-are-gone-to-Israel" activities. It was a BLAST. And they turned out so cute!!

March 17

Today was St. Patrick's Day, so at work, we wore green, had a green lunch (with spinach dip, guacamole, pickles, etc.), and then went up to the green room to take silly pictures. It was a pretty fun day.

March 16

Today my friend Brittany came into town on business, so I went and picked her up and brought her back to Allen for dinner. On the way, we found ourselves at the Coach outlet, where I followed her around, trying to convince her that she needed a new Coach purse (of course, with no intention of buying one myself.) But when I found this turquoise beauty for 70% off, I couldn't pass it up, so Brittany and I both walked out with brand new Coach purses (my first!). I named mine Brittany.

Today after work Sharon and I got haircuts. I got a few inches cut off and some layering put in it, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Tonight we went to the grand opening of one of our friends' just-purchased restaurant. We had a great time visiting with friends from the taekwondo school.

Tonight Jack took me out to our favorite Cajun restauruant, Nate's, for my birthday dinner. Afterward, we went to Saxby's and enjoyed some coffee together. It is quickly becoming one of our favorite traditions.

Today was my birthday! I'm 24 years old now. I was blessed with many, many gifts (I got 3 cookbooks!) and got to spend time with friends at work all day and my parents took me out to dinner at Macaroni Grill tonight. It was a great day!

Today when I got to Awana, the girls had written this on the board and Sarah had cupcakes for me and all the girls to celebrate my birthday. They were very excited about my surprise.

Before Joel and Eric left for Israel, they told us we had to find 5 fun things to do while they were gone. Today was "Wii at lunch" day. It was really fun.

Today I stayed late at work to work on my BikeMS videos. I definitely shouldn't have shot my green-screen video in SD. It made it crazy-difficult to chroma, but at least I learned something for next time.

Tonight we went to see "The Phantom of the Opera" at the Dallas Summer Musicals. It was beautiful. Incredibly elaborate and magnificent. I absolutely loved it.

Today I spent the whole day directing a video shoot for Team HP's BikeMS recruitment and fund-raising. We had a lot of fun, but it was quite a bit of work.

Today, when Jack got home, he told me to close my eyes and hold out my hands. I did, and he placed these in my hands as an early birthday present. He knew I needed more and got them for me. What a sweetheart.

Today I came home from work and designed this blog.

Three years ago today, Jack gave me this ring and asked me to be his wife. And I'm still really glad I said "yes."

Today I made my very first template for a blog header. I gave it away on my blog, and people seemed to like it!

Today I made my first Pioneer Woman recipe - her "perfect pot roast." Jack absolutely loved it. He used the onions to make what he called "pot roast burritos." He was pretty excited about that.
