May 7

Today Brittany and I had a super-busy day!

My day started with a mouse crawling on my ankle on the couch in my brother's basement. Needless to say, I got up really fast and didn't go back down there. I think I'll be sleeping with Brittany upstairs the rest of the trip.

After we got to downtown Boston, we did the entire Freedom Trail (2.5 miles each way), which included all the historic Boston sites, including Paul Revere's house, the Old North Church, Boston Common, Quincy Marketplace, and the Bunker Hill monument. I thought Brittany was going to keel over and die when I made her climb the 294 steps to the top of the Bunker Hill Monument, but we made it and I think it was worth it for the view of Boston that we got at the top.

After all of that, we headed to the Celtics' arena, where my brother gave us a tour of the locker room, broadcast rooms, floor, and other cool stuff like that. Brittany absolutely loved all of that. After that, we watched the Celtics lose a game from free seats and headed home. It was a very long but very fun day.

I flew to Boston today to meet with my friend Brittany and my brother and sister-in-law. Let the vacation begin!

Today Eric and I ran around the office trying to find globes to take pictures of for a Motion effect we wanted to do for a video. IFL has quite a few globes around, but unfortunately none were big enough for what we were thinking we wanted to do. It was still fun looking, though!

Today was my mom's birthday, so we took her out to dinner to Macaroni Grill after work! Yum.

Today was spent recovering from BikeMS. I was so tired at work, but it was totally worth it.

May 2

Today was Day 2 of BikeMS. Day 2 is always much harder than Day 1, partially because you've ridden the whole day before and partially because it's a much, much hillier day. But the weather was perfect and we had a good time anyway. Plus I found my sign! (Along the way during BikeMS, they put signs for the top 100 fundraisers in random order, so you never know whose sign it will be.)

May 1

It's time for BikeMS! This morning, the weather was a little touch-and-go (what else is new for BikeMS?) and the ride was delayed 30 minutes, but after we got going, the weather was absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, since I spent the week with strep and eating nothing but liquids when I should have been carb-loading, I was pretty weak for this ride. We took it easy and went about half-way today. It was a fun day one.
